Choices Overview

“Choices”

30 – 60 Minute Keynote

In this 30-60 minute keynote presentation, John addresses driving issues with teens.

John begins the presentation by talking about the choices teens make in every day life and how significant they are. As he leads up to the events of the night of April 29, 1994, John speaks about his childhood and what type young man he was.

John then recalls the gripping details of the fatal car crash and how he woke in the hospital a month later to learn that his friends had died that night. He recounts his challenging but miraculous journey to recovery and how his hardships have contributed to the life he leads today.

Next, John discusses how driving choices affect teenagers. He allows the audience to ask questions about driving, and talks about some of the choices he could have made differently that night.

John plays a short video about car crashes.

He allows the teens to ask him questions about his life and what he’s overcome. John closes the presentation with the resonating phrase, “Your life. Your choice.”

After John’s keynote, 10th grade student said, “This was the best session! He told us his story purely to educate us, and he did a wonderful job. He seems like such a strong person.”
