Day One On Coastal Tour

// May 3rd, 2010 // Awareness, Drinking & Driving, Survivor, burn

Today is the first day of my week on the road. I started out in Victoria and tried to make the 1pm ferry from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen and arrived a bit earlier just to make sure I got on the ferry but I wasn’t planning on a 1 sailing wait on a Monday afternoon. Oh well I pulled off into Sidney and went for a Starbucks coffee as I now had 2 hours to kill before the next ferry. So I sat in my car and listened to my new favorite toy which is my Satellite radio.

When I finally got on the ferry around 3pm I sat in my car for the ride and played games on my phone. Once I got to Vancouver I had to navigate my way through the city towards the Horseshoe Bay Ferry terminal and to find out the ferry had left 30 mins ago. So again I had to wait for the next ferry which was about an hour and a half. The nice thing about the ferry from Horseshoe bay to Langdale is that it’s only about 45 mins. So again I sit and listen to my satellite radio and play on my phone. Now this isn’t all that bad as I did plan today as a travel day.

The ferry arrived and we boarded and I went up to the passenger area and enjoyed a quiet ride as the ferry was not busy. I took a seat near the front of the ferry so I could see where we will be heading.

Once the ferry was about to dock turned on my GPS and plotted the address of the B&B where I will be staying. Wow that was I think the best thing I could of done as I don’t think I would have ever found it with my trusty Garmin 1390T GPS. I was so surprised once I got here that the address was in my GPS. I must say it was a nice hour drive from the ferry as the road is a nice long winding coastal road with a few small towns scattered along the way.

Once I arrived at Francis Point B&B in the Pender Harbor Area I was greeted by the nice owners and they showed me to my room which is a nice big room with a private bath. I sat down for a few mins with the owners for a quick cup of tea before bed. Wow I truly love the hospitality of B&B’s. they just seem so homey.

Well tomorrow I present at Pender Harbour Secondary School in Madeira Park, BC in the morning and then at Chatelech Secondary School in Sechelt, BC in the afternoon.  It’s getting late so I’m turning in now as 6am comes early.

Thanks for reading my blog and come back daily to see where I’m at and what I’m doing and what I have to say.
